"...A horse is a thing of such beauty
...none will tire of looking at him
as long as he displays himself in his splendor."

Maryal Barnett (FEI Dressage Judge)

"I have known Jamie Schmitt as a weekly student for over twenty years.  She started out riding a pony with me as an eight year old.  During the years as my regular student she has developed her skills as a horsewoman to the extent that a horse she trained, her own Silverado, was awarded the FEI 5 Year old Reserve Champion at Devon and was in the top 6 at the Young Horse National Championships in Lexington, Kentucky.

Jamie has been a diligent student that has developed her riding, training and horse management skills to a level that is far more mature than her chronological age.  So much so that I gave her my personal horse to care for, train and show during the summer of 2002 when she was without a horse of her own.  He came back a happy, healthy horse that scored in the high sixties and low seventies to win most of his classes at first level during his first year of showing.

Whenever I have let Jamie use my equipment and horses, they come back to me in better condition than when they left.  She is a trustworthy and responsible young lady that I can highly recommend.  She has a feel and compassion for the horse that is a “gift” and she will be an asset to the horse world."

Sincerely,

Maryal Barnett

Paul Belasik (FEI Dressage Trainer/Author)

"I have had the pleasant experience of working with Jamie Schmitt many times now. She is a good student of dressage from a theoretical point of view. She is also a talented rider with good physical skills. I have seen her work different types of horses; she has always been patient and fair, unafraid and secure. Her current young horses have a lot of potential. I feel any association with her would reflect very well, especially if one is interested in these kinds of special skills and such a solid personality."

 Sincerely,

 Paul Belasik

Julie Arkison (FEI Dressage Trainer/Instructor)

"Jamie Schmitt is a dedicated horsewoman and a talented rider. I have watched her progress in the training of her two young horses and feel she is both a competent and an elegant rider. She takes the care and training of her horses seriously and is dedicated to their well being in every way. She exhibits the desire and talent to be a top-level rider. She has helped me with the organizational aspects of some of the clinics as well and I find her to be a hardworking and responsible person in this venue as well."

Thank you,

Julie Arkison

Kate Baird (Previous Instructor for the Michigan State University Equestrian Team)

"Jamie is an amazing young lady.  I first met her in 2003 at a Paul Belasik dressage clinic held at the McPhail Equine Performance Center at Michigan State University.  I was surprised to learn that she was only 22 years old, as she is very poised and confident in what she does, riding or otherwise.  She is one of those enviable “natural riders” who sits on her horse with balance and grace, guiding her mount with invisible aids.  Jamie is totally dedicated to the well-being of her horses, and spends time with them in their stalls ensuring that they are comfortable and happy and this reflects in their relaxed, lovely way of going when they are ridden."

Sincerely,

Kate Baird
