"To stand with a horse on a hillside
on a glorious afternoon
is to be back in Eden,
where doing nothing was not boring -
it was peace."

- Milan Kundera

 Philosophy:

It is our belief that, in order to perform to the highest standards, horses must be allowed to live in their natural state as much as possible.  However, we also understand the amount every owner has invested in their horses.  Therefore we look for a middle ground where horses can be horses while still being used for performance.

We attain this goal by allowing for long periods of turnout in large pastures individually or with a small group of 1 or 2 other horses.  In this enviroment, horses have the freedom to graze as well as play and interact with others.  When grazing is not available, horses are fed good quality grass hay several times during the day to accommodate their natural desire to forage continuously.

During the night, the horses are stabled in large stalls where they can rest and eat in peace.  Stabling at night protects the horses during unsupervised hours and helps prevent illness by keeping the horses in the barn when biting insects, such as mosquitoes, are at their peak.  Emergencies are often prevented by our 'night check' where the horses are fed, watered, and looked in upon between dinner and breakfast.

For horses in training, well maintained trails allow for variety in the horse's work and opportunities to train and condition outside of the arena.  We believe that work on trails and in fields does wonders for a horse's mental happiness and helps strengthen the horse physically to prevent injuries from training.

This combination of care and conditioning has proven to be effective in the happy approach our horses have towards their work and their success in the competition arena.  Join us today and let us help you and your horse find success and happiness.
